After travelling all over the world in a quest for the ideal holiday location, there is always one place I always return to, that place is Scotland. Why does Scotland intrigue me so much, why does it always make me feel I am in the right place, why does this fine land always warm my heart and make me feel content like no other country on this planet of ours. To be entirely honest I don't know, all I do know, it feels right, and that's enough for me. So in this article I am going to reach into my feelings and discover why Scotland is the perfect location for myself. The Scottish … [Read more...] about Why I Love to Holiday in Scotland

April 5, 2015 By Greg Murray 2 Comments

Glenelg Brochs

Glenelg, is not known to many tourist who visit this part of Scotland, many will pass by heading to Skye or the nearby tourist attractions along the route to the Skye bridge, and in my heart I want to keep this a secret all to myself. But you can't help wanting to shout aloud about this wonderful village and the most spectacular route to the Isle of Skye via the Glenelg Ferry. The route to Skye I am talking about is over the Mam Ratagan pass from Shiel Bridge, a great drive with hairpin bends rising to 1116 feet, and offering some of the best views in Scotland, it is a road to admire but … [Read more...] about Glenelg, The Most Stunning Route to Skye

So when is the best time to visit the Scottish Highlands, my personal opinion is anytime as Scotland offers everything for all seasons, and the scenery changes with each season giving you a different aspect each time you visit. So what makes Scotland so appealing and why are some people put off visiting at certain times of the year. Great Walks – The West Highland Way

March 1, 2015 By Greg Murray Leave a Comment

The West Highland Way was first opened in 1980 and became Scotland's first Long Distance footpath, the path stretches 95 miles from Milngavie north of Glasgow and ends in Fort William in the foothills of Britain's highest mountain Ben Nevis. The walk is Scotland's most popular long distance footpath and consists of some of the greatest scenery in Scotland whilst remaining a footpath that can be done with relative ease, with many facilities along the route, it can be completed by anyone with decent planning and the correct walking gear. It can become fairly busy during the summer months, but … [Read more...] about Great Walks – The West Highland Way

The Ultimate Scottish Coastal Route – Driving the Entire West Coast of Scotland

October 4, 2014 By Ron 34 Comments

The Ultimate Scottish Coastal Route For most people, including me, the west coast of Scotland offers some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. It's of course not easy, the west coast isn't straight, it has many inland sea lochs, islands and other obstacles, making the journey a rather lengthy and time consuming yet very pleasant enterprise. If you want to make this journey along the coast … [Read more...] about The Ultimate Scottish Coastal Route – Driving the Entire West Coast of Scotland
