Charles Edward Stuart better known as Bonnie Prince Charlie Landed in mainland Scotland in 1745 at Loch nan Uamh on the Western coast not to far from Glenfinnan where he was about to start his adventures as part of the Jacobite rebellion. Loch nan Uamh today is viewed from the road to the isles that travels from Fort William to Mallaig winding and twisting between magnificent scenery and glorious white sand beaches. Plockton is a delightful town on the banks of Loch Carron in the West Highlands of Scotland, with stunning views of the Loch and surrounding mountains its popular with artist and photographers from all over the world. This Highland Community once relied on Fishing and crofting after the Highland clearances. I have been hoping to see one of these very elusive animals now for many years, but never seem to be in the correct place at the right time, in fact I am sure I have missed glimpses of them and been very close at times, but to this day they have been hiding from me. Since the replanting of many forest of our native trees the chances to see this wonderful animal are much better, and since the 80’s it has been made illegal to kill a Pine Marten.
